Liz Liss is vice president of global project and alliance management at MSD Research Laboratories (MRL). In this role, Liss leads a team of project and portfolio managers who plan and execute MSD’s discovery, development and in-line portfolio of projects to achieve regulatory approval, reimbursement and access, and effective lifecycle management of the company’s products. The alliance management team are key points of contact with the company’s discovery and development partners to ensure the success of external collaborations, including joint governance and decision-making.
Liss joined MSD in 2001 as a chemical engineer in pharmaceutical R&D and was responsible for small molecule drug product process development supporting clinical and commercial formulations. In 2004, she transitioned to functional area planning and support for the pre-clinical development subdivision. Prior to her current position, Liss took on diverse roles within project management, including support for project teams, staff management, R&D governance committees and divisional initiatives.
Liss received a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in chemical engineering from Columbia University. She received her Ph.D. in chemical engineering from Rutgers University.
